How this is calculated

Each level is a multiple of your bodyweight. An 80 kg man squatting 132 kg is at the intermediate mark, because that is 1.65 times what he weighs. Rating lifts against bodyweight rather than in absolute kilograms is the only way the comparison means anything: 100 kg off the floor is a different achievement at 60 kg than at 110 kg.

The multiples here come from Strength Level's published standards, drawn from 10.9 million qualifying results out of 48.7 million community lifts recorded between 2015 and 2026. Their thresholds shift with bodyweight — heavier lifters move a smaller multiple of themselves — while this page uses one fixed multiple per level, calibrated at 80 kg for men and 65 kg for women. Near those weights the two agree closely; at the extremes of bodyweight expect a few percent of difference.

Treat the row you land on as information, not a verdict. Limb lengths change what these lifts cost you: long femurs make squats harder and deadlifts easier, short arms flatter the bench and punish the press. Two people with identical training and identical bodyweight can sit a level apart purely because of proportion, and neither of them is doing anything wrong.

The useful number on this page is not the level. It is the gap to the next one. A level is a wide band that takes months to cross, so it barely moves and tells you little week to week; the gap shrinks every time you add weight to the bar, which makes it something you can actually aim at. That is also why the table shows every threshold and marks the ones you have already passed, rather than only naming where you are now.
